The design inspired by the antique "black lacquered dresser inlaid with a mirror" preserved in the Forbidden City. It's a rectangular dresser features an attached mirror and a pair of doors shields drawers. Inlaid in the doors are stained ivory, rubies, and coral carved in auspicious motifs such as bats, ruyi scepters, butterflies, flowers, fruits, and pavilions.
